Transnational Group of Integrated Climate and Energy Policy Making

Officially Best European Platform for Analytics,  Research, Education, Capacity Building, Leadership and Diplomacy

Club Climate Europe is an international platform of climate analysts, educators, policymakers, and capacity builders. We serve as an analytical center on the European and global scales, specializing in green economic transition, climate change mitigation and adaptation, renewable energy, and socioeconomics.

Our core strength lies in climate analytics and policy support — but we complement this with leadership development and practical collaboration, ensuring that our work translates into tangible action on the ground.

In 2025, the Club Climate Europe received an award of the Best European Climate Analytical Platform

Analytical Models

AD-MERGE 2.0, developed by the GERAD centre at HEC Montreal, is an enhanced integrated assessment model that evaluates reactive (‘flow’) and proactive (‘stock’) adaptation strategies along with climate mitigation policies.

The updated model extends AD-MERGE 1.0 through seven enhancements: i) including a more recent base year, ii) increased regional details, iii) refined energy system modeling, iv) inclusion of variable renewable energy, v) direct air carbon capture and storage, vi) recalibrated damage and adaptation estimates, and vii) alignment with the latest Shared Socioeconomic Pathway (SSP2, version 3.0).

There are five distinct scenarios, used by the enhanced AD-MERGE 2.0 framework: a Baseline (no mitigation or damage consideration) and two mitigation pathways, a Reference scenario (current policy-driven mitigation and climate damages), and an Announced Pledges scenario (emissions aligned with national commitments).

Each of the mitigation scenarios is studied with and without adaptation. Collective advancements incorporated in the model refine analytical precision in scenario analysis, thus facilitating a more extensive examination of regional heterogeneity, energy system dynamics, technological innovation, and economic vulnerabilities associated with climate impacts.

The results underscore critical trade-offs and synergies between adaptation and mitigation strategies, focusing on region-specific policy design and integration of clean energy technologies.

Support for the Underserved Schools in Afrika

Dear Friends of Club Climate Europe,

We are pleased to announce the launch of our campaign to raise funds for a transformative initiative of ours, designed to promote sustainable energy access and environmental literacy in under-resourced school communities in Burundi, Kenya, and Uganda.

Our project directly aligns with the societal commitment to addressing the intersection of climate change, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development in vulnerable regions. We propose a targeted intervention that will both reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build long-term community resilience through 3 integrated components:

1. Deployment of Solar Energy Systems in Off-Grid Schools. By installing decentralized solar power units in schools without electricity, we aim to improve access to quality education, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and enable the use of digital tools and lighting essential to effective learning environments.

2. Implementation of Localized Environmental Education Programs. Through co-developed, culturally sensitive curricula and training for educators, we will introduce foundational environmental and climate science to students, enabling them to become informed agents of sustainability in their communities.

3. Running a fruit trees planting campaign in the school communities. By planting 3000 avocado trees, we would reach the objectives of carbon sequestration, sustainable agriculture and agroforestry, food security, and healthy nutrition of the families.

The long-term impact includes improved educational outcomes, enhanced environmental stewardship, and reduced rural energy poverty.

The project will initially focus on 9 (nice) rural schools, 3 (three) schools in each country. The resources will be used to build the course materials, to install the solar panels, to plant the trees, and to provide scholarship funds for students in need.

Club Climate Europe

Club Climate Europe is the international platform of climate analysts, educators, and capacity builders, operating under registration. It follows on the work, which started in 2022, to establish an international knowledge hub of climate analytics with the ambition of becoming the leading global establishment of climate analysts, innovators, and modelers.
Our aim is to foster the international cooperation between the European Union, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Indian, Nepal, Pakistan, Turkey, Africa,  and other countries. Climate has no borders.
