Capacity building
for cities, regions, and countries, which aims at accelerating the climate and energy transition
CCE has initiated a few climate and energy transition capacity-building projects. The projects involve institutional, academic, and industrial partners from a variety of countries, including EU, USA, Caspian-Black and Baltic Seas countries, Ukraine, Central Asia, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Turkey. The projects relate to facilitation, networking, public- private partnerships, regional and country policy support, climate, and energy policy research, etc.
20+ energy and climate cooperation platform – Energy transition in Baltic, Caspian and Black Seas region.
The primary objective of the 20+ Cooperation Platform is to establish a cooperative framework that addresses climate change and energy security through shared strategies, technologies, and investments. By bringing together countries from diverse regions, the platform aims to harness collective expertise and resources to develop sustainable energy solutions, enhance energy security, and mitigate climate impacts.
The 20+ Cooperation Platform will include the following countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, as well as Switzerland, the USA and Saudi Arabia. Iran and Russian Federation, being part of the basin, could be invited one’s political conditions allow. The platform will be open to other countries as well. This diverse coalition represents a strategic cross-section of Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia, each bringing unique strengths and challenges to the table.
The Platform will cooperate closely with the IMEC corridor and might become an integral part of it.
The cooperation platform has been initiated by the Club, in close cooperation with the Security and Sustainability Forum (SSF) of the George Washington University, led by Prof. Edward Saltzberg, and with the GERAD center at HEC Montreal, led by Prof. Oliver Bath, in a few areas, such as:
- Webinars for policy makers, wider academic and professional audience, organized by SSF, with participation of EU climate and energy professionals,
- Educational programs, conferences, and staff exchanges, while designing the educational and awareness-raising programs, organizing joint conferences, and study visits, applications for Horizon Europe and Erasmus projects, etc.
- Meetings with the stakeholders at EU institutions, other EU organizations, the USA, and Canadian counterparts, to discuss and exchange views on the actual questions of Transatlantic relations.
Global North and Global South climate cooperation initiative
The initiative is run by the Club and its partners from India, Pakistan, and Nepal. It aims to bring the global North and global South closer in the processes of green climate and energy transition, to contribute and to learn from each other, especially for young people.
The initiative encompasses the project, run in India and related to Nature Rights, the initiatives of Qaiser Nawab, the chairman of the Belt and Road initiative for sustainable development of Pakistan, the cooperation with Bukura Agriculture College in Kenya for agriculture development in Africa, and other.
