In a momentous convergence of international expertise, the Club Climate Europe (CCE) had the distinct pleasure of meeting with Prof. Edward Saltzberg from George Washington University and the Security and Sustainability Forum (SSF), along with Mr Peter Hefele, the Policy Director of the European People’s Party (EPP) Martens Centre. This significant gathering marked a pivotal chapter in the ongoing global dialogue on climate policies.

A warm and enthusiastic welcome to Prof. Edward Saltzberg, whose work in climate policies and extensive experience at GW University and SSF brings a wealth of knowledge to our community. His presence is an honour, and we are eager to glean insights from his expertise on the USA’s approach to combating climate change. The highlight of the meeting was Prof. Saltzberg’s presentation on the USA’s climate policies. Delving into the intricacies of awareness across governmental institutions and the general populace, Prof. Saltzberg presented statistical numbers that shed light on the current landscape. His talk provided a comprehensive understanding of the initiatives and strategies employed in the United States to address the pressing issue of climate change.

Equally, we extend a heartfelt welcome to Mr. Peter Hefele, the esteemed Policy Director of EPP Martens Centre. His expertise in shaping future climate policies for the European Union adds a valuable dimension to our discussions. As the Policy Director of EPP Martens Centre, Mr Peter Hefele shared insights into the future climate policies of the European Union. This allowed for a comparative analysis, fostering a holistic view of global efforts in combating climate change. Adding to CCE part of Green Deal presentation.
